Bathurst Model Aero Sports Inc. was formed in mid 2010 by a group of model aircraft enthusiasts who share a passionate interest in radio controlled flight. Our aim is to promote and support this fantastic hobby to the residents of Bathurst and surrounding districts. We currently have over 20 members some of whom have over 40 years building and flying experience of model aircraft.
Our club airfield is only a short 15 minutes north of Bathurst. Please click on the "Location" button at top of this page for directions on how to get there.
Our main club flying days are Sunday and Wednesday mornings, weather permitting, however some members do fly 7 days a week. We offer a relaxed and friendly family atmosphere and we make safety our number one priority. On Sunday mornings we have a breakfast barbecue. Hot and cold drinks may also be purchased with all proceeds going to the club.
Our club allows 4 free orientation lessons for prospective new members before they are required to join our club. New members are welcome to use the club’s trainer aircraft, under supervision, until obtaining their own model.
Main club days are Sunday and Wednesday Mornings: 8:30am start
FPV (First Person View) Saturdays: 9:30am start
Electric models: 8am to 5pm, 7 days a week.
Internal Combustion Models (Methanol, Petrol, Diesel): 9am to 5pm, 7 days a week.
Visitors are most welcome to our field. However visitors must be accompanied by a club member at all times. All visitors that are flying are required to sign the visitors log book and read the clubs field flying rules before doing so.
We advise that a good hat, sunglasses, and sun blocker be used whilst out in the sun for any prolonged period of time.
The club is always accepting new members to join our growing community. Drop by the airfield and speak to a member about joining or visit the membership page for more details.
The club has trainer models, which new and prospective members can try out under the supervision of our flight instructors.
